Janelle Bradway

All levels of Dance & Fitness Instructor, Owner/Director

Miss Janelle graduated from Central Connecticut State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. She also became a certified Health and Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports and Medicine.  Miss Janelle has been dancing at New Steps since she was five years old.  She has been teaching with the company since 2001 and was named New Steps Dancer of the Year in 1998.  Miss Janelle has attended the New York City Dance Alliance Convention in Boston for the last 20 years, where she has had the opportunity to receive dance training from teachers from around the country.

In addition to dancing at New Steps, Miss Janelle has taught creative movement, tap and jazz for the Glastonbury YMCA. Miss Janelle was also the Director and Choreographer for the Glastonbury YMCA productions of High School Musical, Annie, Alice in Wonderland and Beauty & the Beast.

Miss Janelle founded Fitness with Janelle in 2008. After working in big gyms and experiencing group fitness classes from other teachers, she developed a style of teaching that is appropriate, approachable, effective and fun. She takes pride in working with each of her students.

Heather Budinscak

Barre & Pilates Instructor

Heather Budinscak is owner of Position First Pilates and Dance Conditioning, LLC. She is a fully certified STOTT Pilates Instructor and has been published in Dance San Diego. Heather is also a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified personal trainer and takes a special interest in Fascial conditioning, sports conditioning and injury rehab.

Heather completed her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance and Choreography from New York University's TISCH School of the Arts, where she had the opportunity to dance for a number of choreographers, including dancing primary roles in world premieres by Robert Battle and Nicolo Fonte. She has danced professionally for Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, Saving Grace Dance Ensemble, DanceFusion, Myra Bazell/SCRAP, Allied Motion, apprenticed for the Pennsylvania Dance Theatre, and currently dances for DancEnlight.

Heather is founder and choreographer of FreeFall Contemporary Dance Company, having shown her own work in New York City, Philadelphia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Heather was on the leadership committee of the New Hampshire Dance Alliance and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Sonia Plumb Dance Company.

Heather Parlee

Cardio Hip Hop Instructor


Miss Heather is a recent graduate of Clark University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Oil Painting and a minor in Art History. Through all for years of her college career, she was an active and prominent member of Clark University’s Hip Hop Collabo, a student-run hip hop dance group where she performed, taught and led throughout her time with the group. She served on the Executive Board for HHC as head of publicity for two years and as Co-Director for one. Miss Heather has choreographed and performed for events, workshops, and fundraisers throughout her community.

 Miss Heather’s dance training began at the early age of three at the Julie Lang Studio of Dance (formerly Betty Jane Turner) where she danced for 13 years and was classically trained in ballet, lyrical, contemporary and jazz.

 In 2011, Miss Heather joined the New Steps family and began teaching summer hip hop classes. Since graduating, she has taught classes throughout the school year.

Chelsea Cooper

Total Body Tone Instructor

Chelsea Cooper, a former special education teacher, has been involved in dance and sports throughout her life. She started taking fitness classes while in college and fell in love with the group fitness environment. She has been teaching spin and aerobics for two years, in addition to the workout she gets from chasing around her three daughters!


Laura Jacques

Yoga Instructor

Laura Jacques has been practicing yoga for more than 10 years. It makes her feel centered and she received her 200 hour certification in 2009. Over the years, yoga has connected her to many people and filled her heart with so much love. She hopes to share her passion with you in her classes!


Nicole Carango

Nicole Carango spent the last decade as a Pastry Chef, training in New York City then bringing her talents to Glastonbury, CT. A mother of three, she has always found time for a strict fitness routine which over time developed into competing in triathlons and half-marathons. by chance, she found yoga and decided that the connection between mind, body and sprit was not only something she needed in her life but needed to teach to others. Nicole has recently been certified as a 200hr RYT specializing in Power Vinyasa and is excited to be bringing her style to New Steps Dance & Fitness. She is also a Reiki Practitioner with a practice out of her home.
